  for all those here who who saw and may have met fred franz.what would he say about global warming, facebook twitter, the death of mitcahel jackson since mitchael was a witness.what would he say about lady gaga, justin biber, usher and emeniem.how do you think he would have reacted to the events of 9/11 and bible prophecy.would he see it as true signs of the end.. so the overall question how would fred franz respond to the 21 st century with it's advanved technolgy and war on terrorism and the economic crisis that this country (the u.s) is facing.please tell us your thoughts..

  i know nothing about hackers but overheard local radio commentator crediting hackers for information about the wikileaks saga and how he loves hackers and how they were responsible for the facts being released about scientology, also --- and many other matters.

  why are they not helping us w/facts about how the watchtower is destructive/dangerous --- media coverage (more) would be excellent.

  recall metatron posted how successful one man can be (referring to the wikileaks' incident) and it looks like hackers are the dream ticket.

  As to hackers and the fight against The WATCHTOWER, there are a bunch of them, and the WTB&TS has its own band of "black hats" who try to knock out XJW sites.

  Just because you are not personally aware of something doesn't mean it isn't happening.

  Bears are just as evil as "hackers" are.

  In other words, hackers are not evil.

  A hacker is simply a person who is interested in understanding a machine or software at a deeper level than the usual user's manual takes him.

  A good analogy is people who enjoy picking locks. Are they EVIL?

  It depends upon what they do with their "mad skilz", doesn't it?

  Alan Turing was a "white hat" hacker during World War II. During the Second World War, Turing worked for the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park, Britain's codebreaking centre. For a time he was head of Hut 8, the section responsible for German naval cryptanalysis. He devised a number of techniques for breaking German ciphers, including the method of the bombe, an electromechanical machine that could find settings for the Enigma machine.

  If the Nazis had won the war, he would have been considered a "black hat" hacker.

  (Yes, I know the term "hacker" was not used this way during the 1940s.)

  this from an e_mail site.. governing body member john (jack) barr has died (or, "completed his earthly course") on saturday, december 4, 2010.. bro barr died at walkill aged 97 after 71 years of full time service - 23 years as a member of the governing body in new york ..

  i am new here i have posted only a couple of times.i still an nervous though.

  i left the witness in 2008 and am still struggling with my belief syestem .although i am now reading richard dawkins the god delusion which by the way is a really good book i am already in chapter 2.so here i am new and unsure, if i should be on this site or not..

  Father just named an ELDER...party! or not to party!

  i just found out that the named my father an elder in his congregation.

  which i find suprising for many reasons, but thats another story.

  anyway my brothers & sisters invited me to go out to dinner with them and the families, in honor of my fathers new appointment, (2 of my bro are also ms, and had similiar "parties" after appointments).

  Anytime a person achieves a goal that is esteemed by their peer group, they feel empowered.

  Sometimes this is legitimate, sometimes it isn't. Much depends upon which side of the fence you're on.

  For example, I'm inclined to think that a person who passes the training to be come a US Navy SEAL Operator has achieved something that sets them apart from the majority (including me).

  People who work in a technical field might take pride in passing their A+ or SysAdmin Certification exams. To a guy who hangs sheet rock, those are meaningless.

  Becoming an JW elder is a case of becoming a BIG FISH in a tiny pond. It's easier than becoming a member of the local beer-hall bowling team, because the team requires a certain proficiency at bowling.

  What are the requirements to be an elder? Supposedly there are "Bible-based™" requirements, but anyone who's been a JW for a few years knows that is just the PR. The main requirement is that the other elders and the Circuit Servant (or whatever he's called now) sees you as a "team player." There is no serious attempt at a vetting process. No criminal records are checked (that is a part of SATAN'S WORLD), no interviews are conducted among family, friends, and associates of the prospective elder.

  The one printed requirement in the elder's manual is that he cannot be a child molester - and for that we can thank Bill Bowen and silentlambs. He could be a swindler, liar, thief, cheat, adulterer, gambler, substance abuser, drunk, glutton, petty, prone to anger, puffed up with price - any human failing can be manifest and that will not prevent his appointment if "the boys" want him appointed.

  "Spirit-directed" appointment? My ass!

  So to your Dub family members, Smoky, it may be a big deal, but to those in the real world it is less impressive than a girl scout merit badge.

  Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Winter Tires

  so, after 3 and a bit winters in canada i finally invested in a set of winter tires.

  up till now i've had a good set of all-seasons (goodyear assurance tripletred) and they have been very good even coping with a sudden calgary freeze last winter that saw accordian buses sliding back down the hill we were on (scary!

  ) and general chaos on the roads.. but, driving on the deerfoot on solid polished sheets of black-ice in rush-hour traffic is not nice and you could feel the car getting more than a little vague at times.

  yup, this is a negative thread.. there are a lot of things but i'll start with one.. jws believe god will destroy 99.9% of the world simply because they aren't witnesses.

  this view produces the "i am better than you" attitude because they get to live forever and you will die forever.
